NORTH CALDWELL, NJ — O Christmas tree, o Christmas tree — where shall I put you when the holiday's over?

The township of North Caldwell released its Annual Borough Flyer for 2023 on Monday, Jan. 2, with detailed trash and recycling collection information by street, as well as details on other matters, such as the volunteer Fire Department, garage sale rules, and Christmas tree collection.

Here are the rules about collecting leaves, branches, logs, tree trunks, and Christmas trees:

Tree Branches: must be less than 4 feet in length and bundled and tied. Must be placed at the curb for normal trash collection on the second day of the week that your trash is normally
collected.

Tree Trunks And Logs: are considered construction and demolition debris and will require private disposal.

Christmas Trees: must be placed at the curb in January for collection and recycling by the Borough.

Leaves: must be placed in bio-degradable paper bags. Leaves placed at the curb will be collected by the Borough during the Fall and collected the rest of the year curbside (along with grass and yard debris) by the trash hauler on the second household waste collection day of the week.
