Here's Where To Get 5 Free Trees Near The Caldwells This Weekend
Bare root tree seedlings, as tall as 2 feet, will be given away at 5 Essex County locations.
THE CALDWELLS, NJ — In advance of Arbor Day (April 29 this year), Essex county residents can pick up seedlings for five trees next Friday or Saturday, courtesy of the state Department of Environmental Protection.
There are five locations in the county to pick up trees.
The seedlings are bare root tree seedlings, which come in lengths of six inches to two feet tall, in a bundle of five.

You don't need to register unless your municipality asks you to, but you must wear a mask, the state says. (See more information here).
Where To Get Them

- Friday, you can get your saplings at the DPW Recycling Center at 345 Essex St. in Millburn between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
- Saturday, April 23, you can get them in the morning hours in Belleville Township, Bloomfield, Maplewood, and Verona. Find out the times and addresses on Saturday here.
