Hundreds of Dogs in Obedience Trial This Sunday

K-9 Obedience Training Club of Essex County invites the public to see dogs and their owners compete in all levels of dog obedience.

The K-9 Obedience Training Club of Essex County, NJ, (K-9 OTC) is holding its annual dog obedience trial this Sunday, January 17th, 2016, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Verona High School, 151 Fairview Avenue, Verona, NJ, 07044. Dogs and their owners will compete in various events to show off their training, from beginner to highly-skilled. One event of increasing popularity is “Rally,” an entry-level competition that is attracting more enthusiasts to the fun and amusement of dog obedience. Admission is free. Food will be available for purchase.

Spectators may enter any time during the day, but only dogs who are registered to compete may enter the building. Please leave your dogs at home.

The K-9 OTC is a not-for-profit organization that has operated continuously in Essex County, NJ, since its founding in 1944, and is the only American Kennel Club (AKC) affiliated training club in the county. Beginning Tuesday evening, January 19th, 2016, new 7-week group training sessions begin at the Montclair Cooperative School Annex, Forest Avenue near the intersection of Chestnut Street.
