In the Mood for a Treasure Hunt? Check Out Antiques Show and Estate Sales This Weekend

Patch found the treasure map for Estate Sale goers.

Patch spotted “Antiques Show” signs in Caldwell Thursday and followed them to a stunning historic home just a block off of Bloomfield Avenue. On the front lawn were tables and tables filled with antiques. We decided to stop in, browse and get some details.

The two-day antiques show at 29 Brookside Ave. includes items from various antique dealers such as resident David Cowell and Hilltop Estate Sales, a business run by two women named Kathy and Valerie. Cowell said the show takes place here every year.

Waterford crystal, accent furniture, costume jewelry, vintage trains and toys and other items were available for sale. Sale hours Friday will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

While at the sale, Patch learned the best source for Estate Sales is www.estatesales.net—so we checked it out. It's a site for all treasure hunters to bookmark. Here’s a list of what’s going on in the area just this weekend:

  • Liberty Antiques is having a sale in West Caldwell that includes an antique bed, an Ethan Allen dining room, an Ethan Allen bedroom, and an Ethan Allen tea cart. Address will be made available in the morning. Details here
  • Real McCoy is running an Estate Sale on 12 Taylor Drive in West Caldwell, on Friday and Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Items are 60s and 70s modern. Details here.
  • Jerry’s Antiques and Estates will hold an Estate Sale at 24 Kent Drive, in Roseland, Friday and Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ad says too many items to list them all. Details here

Happy treasure hunting!
