'Inspire Your Child to Dream, Believe and Achieve'

Caldwell-West Caldwell Home-School Association presents renowned motivational speaker Scott Chesney.

Scott Chesney, an internationally recognized motivational speaker, will make a presentation for area parents on Thursday, Feb. 16 entitled, “Inspire Your Child to Dream, Believe and Achieve, Strategies for Parents to Support their Children in and out of the Classroom."

Sponsored by the Caldwell-West Caldwell Home-School Association (HSA) League, the program begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Center for Performing Arts in West Caldwell. The talk is free and open to the public.

Chesney became paralyzed after a sudden spinal stroke at age 15. Now in his early 40s, the Verona resident has traveled the world, addressing more than one million people in 38 countries. Chesney has appeared before Fortune 500 corporations, the United Nations, and countless students and parents. He has been described as a “profile in courage,” “a master of living life to its fullest,” and “a commander in change.”

Chesney will address the following topics:  

  • Finding peace within yourself and setting the best example possible;
  • Connecting with your child(ren) on a daily basis;  
  • Managing your emotions: projection, suppression, or a healthy expression;
  • Being the most effective communicator and listener; and
  • Setting attainable standards and lofty goals for yourselves and your children.
