INTENSIVE THERAPEUTICS RECEIVES $20,000 LET’S PLAY GRANT FROM DR PEPPER SNAPPLE GROUP AND NATIONAL NON-PROFIT KaBOOM! AFTER NATIONAL VOTING COMPETITION

West Caldwell, NJ, August 3rd, 2016 – Dr Pepper Snapple Group and national non-profit KaBOOM! awarded five recipients, including intensive Therapeutics, a $20,000 Let’s Play Video Contest Grant following a national voting competition where organizations submitted videos illustrating their need for an improved play space.

Let’s Play fans voted for their favorite playground videos on www.LetsPlay.com to select the five grant recipients. By finishing in the top five, Dr Pepper Snapple and KaBOOM! awarded Intensive Therapeutics a $20,000 Let’s Play grant to build a new playground.

The video contest is part of Let’s Play, an initiative by Dr Pepper Snapple to provide kids and families with the tools, places and inspiration to make active play a daily priority. Organizations nationwide were asked to submit videos illustrating their need for places to play for a chance to win one of five $20,000 grants.

“We are such a small, grass-roots organization. It is amazing to me to see the support we received from so many people to be in the top 5 vote-getters to receive this grant,” said Scott Matthews, Executive Director. “This is such a wonderful opportunity for us to create a playground with KaBOOM! and Dr Pepper Snapple Group, so children with special needs can play and develop the skills necessary to play on playgrounds in their own communities and neighborhoods.”

This $20,000 grant will go towards building a new playground at the Intensive Therapeutics West Caldwell facility. Enabling the therapists to work with the children on a playground helps build the skills for them to play anywhere, and it’s a fun environment for therapy. Having the playground on site makes sure there is easy access to play!

DPS launched Let’s Play in 2011 with a $15 million commitment to KaBOOM! to build or improve 2,000 playgrounds. In 2014, Dr Pepper Snapple and KaBOOM! extended their partnership through 2016 with an additional $10 million commitment from DPS to continue providing kids with the active play they need.
