James Caldwell High School Colonel John McHugh Memorial Soccer Saturday to Benefit Wounded Warriors and Local Food Pantry

Soccer event to support families in need - both local and non-local.

James Caldwell High School (JCHS), West Caldwell, will hold the fourth annual Colonel John McHugh Memorial Soccer Saturday on September 13, beginning at 9:00 a.m., to benefit the Wounded Warriors, JCHS Soccer Booster Clubs and now, the Caldwell Food Pantry. Two separate fundraisers, including an apparel sale and a dining event at Chipotle Mexican Grill in West Caldwell, were held last month to benefit the soccer teams and the Wounded Warrior Project. The Wounded Warrior Project strives to raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members. Hoping to ensure that local families in need are also helped, the soccer clubs will also collect non-perishable food items at the soccer event for the local food pantry. Items in need include juice boxes, water bottles, individual snacks and fruit cups, granola and fruit bars, cheese and peanut butter crackers, raisins, brown and sandwich bags, peanut butter and jelly, coffee (reg./decaf), ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, canned soup and chili, canned fruit and tuna, canned beans, apple sauce, powdered potatoes, cereal paper towels, pasta, juice (apple and cranberry), soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo and conditioner, and bathroom tissue.

The Sept.13 Memorial Soccer Saturday event includes several games at JCHS and the announcement of the Colonel John McHugh Memorial Award winners. Food, drink, raffles and JCHS soccer apparel will be available for purchase at the event. The game schedule for Sept.13 is below:
