James Caldwell HS Student Nabs Award With ‘Cart’ Photo

Some people would have seen a plain, old shopping cart and just walked on past. Not THIS James Caldwell High School student.

WEST CALDWELL, NJ — Some people would have seen a plain, old shopping cart and just walked on past. But not James Caldwell High School senior Christian Badach.

Badach recently received an honorable mention in the Drexel University High School Photography contest for his photo entitled “Cart.”

The photo contest, run by Drexel University, is open to all high school students in the United States. Students may enter all types of photographic processes, including black/white, color, silver prints, digital prints and historical processes.

Badach said that he didn’t expect to win or even advance to the final selection when he sent in his submission.

“It’s a huge honor to win an Honorable Mention Award and to have my work be put in the exhibition,” he said.

Badach will be recognized for his photo on Feb. 10 at Drexel University during their opening reception. His photograph will be displayed from Feb. 10 through March 5.
