The cast of the The Spoon River Project, the drama to be presented in the new Performing Arts Center at James Caldwell High School, visited Caldwell’s own Friday. They spent a respectful hour developing their characters with their director, Jensyn Oertel-Modero.
The Spoon River Project will be presented at the James Caldwell High School Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. on October 27, 28 and 29. The drama is an adaptation of Edgar Lee Master’s Spoon River Anthology and takes place in a cemetery. The play highlights 41 of the original characters talking about their lives and also includes popular music from the time.
Showing their versatility, most of the cast “bring to life” more than one character in the play. Cast members are Shelby Adams, Emily Arney, Emily Bruno, Ethan Crump, Brenden Cullinane, Cynthia Duroseaw, Julie Eller, Kyle Elphick, Nicole Garamella, Sarah Garvey, Ja'Neece Jackson, Alyssa LaMedica Gregory Mercado, Regina Peters, Joe Reilly, Sarah Smith, Natalie Tietjen and Taryn Urban.

This is Modero’s second play at the high school, last spring she directed Wonderful Town.
