James Caldwell High School will welcome a new principal for the upcoming school year.
The district recently announced the appointment of Jim Devlin, a former assistant principal and social studies supervisor at Morris Knolls High School in Denville.

“Jim Devlin comes to Caldwell-West Caldwell with a rich background in teaching and administration. An assistant principal and social studies supervisor at Morris Knolls High School in Denville, NJ, since 2005, Devlin earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History Education and graduated from the University of Delaware, Magna Cum Laude, in 1992. He attended Rutgers University where he earned a Master of Education – Supervision and Administration degree in 1999. Devlin taught at Marlboro High School from 1992 to 2000, and then served as the Social Studies Supervisor at Chatham High School for five years before accepting an administrative position at Morris Knolls. Devlin’s current position includes supervision of the school’s International Baccalaureate Program, student activities, school security, student discipline, building maintenance, and more. He also served as the social studies department head from 2005 until 2014.”
According to the release, Devlin is married to his wife, Casey, and has two sons ages 14 and 11. With any free time outside of chauffeuring his sons around town, he loves to exercise, read, travel and cheer for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but his favorite activity is anything that includes spending time with his family and their golden doodle, Daisy.

“Being appointed principal of James Caldwell High School is a tremendous honor,” stated Devlin. “I am eager to meet the faculty, students, and their families, and begin working with them to provide the best high school experience for each and every student.”
