Love In The Caldwells: Seniors Get 6,000 Valentines

Residents in the Caldwells and surrounding areas volunteered to write Valentines for seniors, and boy did they deliver.

THE CALDWELLS, NJ — Residents throughout the area volunteered to write valentines for seniors in Rep. Mikie Sherrill's 11th District, and her staff delivered 6,000 on Valentine's Day.

Among the seniors who received them were seniors at the Crane’s Mill retirement community in West Caldwell.

People contributed valentines through libraries, schools, and local businesses.

The effort grew out of previous programs by Sherrill's team, such as “Thanksgiving Thank-Yous for Veterans” which resulted in over 6,800 thank you notes delivered to veterans last year, and “2022 Heroes” celebrating the everyday heroes in NJ-11.

“I am so heartened by the outpouring of support for our seniors," Sherrill said. "Valentine's Day is a great time to support each other and I know that these cards have brightened so many seniors’ day."
