Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident in St. Al's Lot
Identity not yet released as investigation continues into one-vehicle crash.

Caldwell Police are investigating the death of a man who was killed last weekend after his motorcycle crashed into a light post in the St. Aloysius Church parking lot, Detective/Sgt. Tony Marta said Thursday.
According to Marta, the man, whose identity and age have not yet been released, was riding his motorcycle in the church's parking lot when he struck the concrete base of a light post Sunday night at about 7:45 p.m.
Caldwell's police and fire departments, along with the West Essex First Aid Squad, responded to the scene, Marta said.

The man was transported to Caldwell College where NorthSTAR medevac airlifted him to University Hospital in Newark where he later died, Marta said.
It is unknown why the man was in the parking lot and no other vehicles were involved, Marta said.

According to Marta, no further details will be released until the completion of the investigation, which is being conducted by Sgt. Michael Pellegrino.
