Maplewood Teacher Pleads Not Guilty to Sexual Assault

Caldwell and Bloomfield resident accused of having sex with six underage boys.

Nicole Dufault, a Maplewood teacher who was accused of having sexual relations with six of her former male students in September of 2014, pleaded not guilty on Monday to 40 counts of aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, according to a NJ.com report.

Dufault, a Bloomfield native and Caldwell resident, has been free since posting bail in October of 2014, and has been on unpaid suspension from her job since February, stated the report.

Prosecutors have charged that Dufault engaged in sexual activity with six boys on multiple occasions between 2013 and 2014, some of which occurred on school property and in DuFault’s car. [See related Patch article here]
