Men Of Essex Charity Golf Classic To Return For 2023 In North Caldwell

Several of northern New Jersey’s corporate and civic leaders (along with celebrities) are expected to join the Men of Essex in their efforts to raise $50,000 at its 62nd annual Golf Classic.

The charity event will also feature presentation of the Essex Award that bestows recognition upon Essex County’s leading athlete scholars during the awards portion of the day’s festivities.

The charity benefit golf outing will be held at the Green Brook Country Club, 100 West Greenbrook Road in North Caldwell on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. Registration and lunch begin at 11 a.m. Tee time is 1 p.m.

Ida L. Woody and the Staff of Woody Home for Services in Orange will be honored on its 110th anniversary for recognition as one of the oldest African American owned funeral homes in the State of New Jersey. The Woody family legacy of service is unsurpassed and has achieved high standing in the mortuary services industry.

Proceeds from the Golf Classic benefit the Men of Essex Student Aid Fund, which assists Essex County students achieve their higher education aspirations.

The tournament is one of the nation's longest running sports benefits hosted by an African American charitable organization and has attracted the support of leading area corporations who have joined the Men of Essex as tournament co-sponsors.
