Merchants Support Relay For Life With Purple Theme
Balloons, posters and even beer colored for upcoming event at Caldwell High.
This month's Relay For Life event at James Caldwell High School was welcomed by area merchants on Saturday with a purple-colored theme of balloons, posters, ice cream and even beer.
Caldwell High will host its first Relay For Life on May 21 and 22 to benefit the American Cancer Society.
The Relay For Life provides the opportunity to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost and fight back against the disease.

At the relay, teams of people camp out and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Because cancer never sleeps, relays are overnight events up to 24 hours in length.
Cloverleaf Tavern, which served served purple beer on Saturday, will host a Relay For Life Gift Auction Tuesday night from 5 to 8 p.m. There will be prizes from local merchants, including restaurant certificates, spa baskets and other items.
