MSU Among Nation's 'Best Graduate Education' Schools: Report

Montclair State University students have access to one of the nation's top 100 graduate education programs, according to a recent report.

Montclair State University students have access to one of the nation’s top hundred graduate education programs, according to a recent report.

U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Graduate Schools” list recently rated MSU’s graduate education program as #93 out of 376 surveyed schools, a 17-spot jump for the university from 2016.

The publication used factors such as faculty resources, reputation and research activity to reach its conclusion.

According to a university news release, MSU graduate students can pursue degrees in fields including early childhood, elementary and secondary teaching; educational leadership; counseling; special and inclusive education; exercise science and physical education; family and child studies; nutrition and food science; and public health.

In addition, the school’s College of Education and Human Services also offers doctoral degrees in teacher education and teacher development; family and child studies; and counseling.

"This continued progress is a testament to the work of our faculty, and to their commitment to creating innovative and challenging curricula for our graduate students,” said Joan C. Ficke, dean of The Graduate School at Montclair State University.
