NJ Man Allegedly Stole $100K On His 1st Day At New Job: Police
It was his first day on the job, the company told police.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Fairfield police arrested an Elizabeth man after he allegedly stole $100,000 from a security company on his first day on the job, authorities say.
According to the Fairfield Police Department, security officials from Garda contacted officers on Wednesday after the company discovered that one of their employees, later identified as Larry Brooks, 19, allegedly stole $100,000 in cash the previous evening.
It was his first day on the job, the company told police.

Garda staff told police that the theft was caught on the company’s surveillance video system. Security officers were allegedly able to recover $85,900 from a vehicle that was parked in Elizabeth prior to contacting police, authorities said.
Fairfield police charged Brooks with second degree theft. He was released on his own recognizance and the matter will be forwarded to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office for prosecution, authorities said.
