N. Caldwell First Responders No Longer Doing ‘Drive By Parades’

NCPD: "We hope we brought some happiness to the kids that had to celebrate in isolation."

NORTH CALDWELL, NJ — Police and firefighters in North Caldwell will be suspending “drive by parades” for local residents amid Gov. Phil Murphy’s recent order to increase the size of gatherings allowed amid the coronavirus crisis.

The North Caldwell Police Department issued the following statement on Tuesday:

“We were happy to hear the governor has increased outside gatherings to 25 people. This allows for families and friends to have bbq’s and parties (socially distant, of course). With that in mind the NCPD and NCFD will suspended doing drive by parades effective June 1. We were so happy to help people celebrate during this challenging time and we hope we brought some happiness to the kids that had to celebrate in isolation. Thank you all for your continued support, we truly are all in this together especially here in this great community!”
