North Caldwell Makes 2020 List Of ‘Safest Small Towns In America’

NORTH CALDWELL, NJ — North Caldwell has landed on a list of the “100 Safest Small Towns in America” for 2020.

The borough ranked 21st in a recently released report from Safewise. With a population of 6,716, North Caldwell saw a 0.0 violent crime rate per 1,000 residents, and a 2.08 property crime rate.

Lewisboro Town, New York, tied with Luzerne Township, Pennsylvania, for the top spot on the list.

Researchers analyzed at FBI crime report data and population information for 2018, the most recent year for which complete data was available, to reach their conclusions. Towns with populations below 5,000 and above 15,000 were excluded from the final results. See the full methodology here.
