NORTH CALDWELL, NJ — North Caldwell property owners will see a modest tax increase under the 2017 municipal budget, which was approved earlier this month.
The average North Caldwell homeowner with a property assessed at $682,891 will see a tax hike of $47, although the municipal tax bill only comprises about 17 percent of a local property owner’s taxes and doesn’t include the county and school portions, borough administrators said during a March public budget hearing.
During the hearing, CFO Richard Mondelli said that the municipal operating budget represented a 1.82 percent increase from last year, and came in under the 2 percent cap levy mandated by the state.
