North Caldwell Police Car Chase Ends Near Route 46
North Caldwell's police chief said the chase is a good example of why officers enforce the local overnight parking ordinance.

NORTH CALDWELL, NJ — North Caldwell authorities say a high-speed car chase in the Maple Drive section of town on Tuesday morning is a good example of why local police enforce the borough’s overnight parking ordinance.
According to a North Caldwell police alert, officers on patrol spotted a “suspicious high-end vehicle” around 3:30 a.m. When the driver saw the police watching they took off at a high-rate of speed.
North Caldwell police terminated the chase around Route 46 in Little Falls due to dangerous speeds, authorities said.

North Caldwell Police Chief Mark Deuer commended the officers on nighttime patrol for their vigilance.
“We again ask that all vehicles left outside be locked at all times and no keys or key fobs should be left in the vehicle,” Deuer said. “This is the very reason that we enforce the overnight parking ordinance... with no cars parked in the street overnight it allows the police to quickly identify suspicious vehicle and prevents auto thefts.”
