North Caldwell Police Hiring Dispatcher: Here’s What It Takes

NORTH CALDWELL, NJ — The North Caldwell Police Department is looking to hire a full-time dispatcher, officials announced last week.

The NCPD issued an advisory about the job opening on Dec. 27. According to police, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Must be 18-years-old
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Subject to a background investigation and must be of “good moral character”
• Must be able to multi-task while using radios, telephone and sophisticated computer systems
• Must be willing to work 12-hour shifts on weekends, holidays, days and nights
• Must successfully complete in-house training program
• 911/EMD certifications are preferred

People can pick up applications in person at the North Caldwell Police Department, 136 Gould Avenue. They should submit copies of any applicable training certificates and/or a resume.

Applications must be received by Jan. 17, 2020.
