North Caldwell Schools Bid Fond Farewell To Veteran Teacher

NORTH CALDWELL, NJ — As the year wraps up in the North Caldwell Public School District, staff and students are bidding a veteran teacher farewell as she embarks on her retirement.

The North Caldwell Board of Education reported about Jeanne Jeffrey’s retirement in a recent e-newsletter, praising the Gould School technology teacher for her contributions to the school community.

According to the BOE:

“Mrs. Jeffrey was hired as the technology teacher in Gould School after being employed in Montclair and Essex Fells. She has demonstrated a commitment to life-long learning. Over the years she has enrolled in graduate level courses that included topics such as Teaching with the Internet, Technology Integration in the K-12 Classroom, Infusing Technology with Special Education, Creating Instructional Blogs, Web Publishing and Virtual Field Trips.”

BOE members continued:

“Mrs. Jeffrey has collaborated with grade level teachers to implement strategies in daily planning and teaching using Google Apps for education and Google Chrome Books. She worked with teachers to trouble shoot and correct any tech issues that arose in the classroom. She added coding for 3-D printing to the curriculum, enhanced grade level curriculum with video conferencing, implemented "Lunch and Learn" which taught various technology programs and apps to teachers and taught coding in the after-school enrichment program.”

“Thank you for teaching our children, Mrs. Jeffrey… you will be missed,” the BOE wrote. “Congratulations on your retirement.”
