NORTH CALDWELL, NJ — Students at Grandview School in North Caldwell recently got a special visit from a member of the animal kingdom: a penguin.
The students got an up-close encounter with an African penguin in their kindergarten atrium in March, school administrators recently announced in a newsletter. According to district officials:
“The Penguin Pointer Education Program from Jenkinson's Aquarium provided the students with a more meaningful experience with the non-flying bird. The presentation reinforced a unit of study on penguins the kindergartners had back in January. The program concluded with Vern the penguin waddling amongst the students and teachers making for a fun experience for everyone.”
