Poetry Festival Hits West Caldwell on Sunday: Free Readings and Discussions
Event will feature editors from literary journals who will give submission tips for poets.

The West Caldwell Public Library, 30 Clinton Road, will host the 12th annual “West Caldwell Poetry Festival” on Sunday, May 17, from 1 to 5 p.m. in the library’s Community Room.
According to a release, six published poets including Charlie Bondhus, Anna M. Evans, R.G. Evans, Douglas Goetsch, Therese Halscheid and Adele Kenny will read some of their poems and discuss the creative process of writing poetry. The writers will also be selling and signing copies of their recent poetry anthologies.
In addition, editors from ten literary journals will also be on hand to answer questions concerning subscription information and submission guidelines. Some of the literary journals include Adanna, Edison Literary Review, Journal of New Jersey Poets, Raintown Review and Lips.

The poetry festival is organized by Diane Lockward, award-winning poet and resident of West Caldwell. According to a release, Lockward is the author of “The Crafty Poet: A Portable Workshop” and three full length collections of poetry including “Temptation By Water,” “What Feeds Us” (winner of the 2006 Quentin R. Howard Poetry Prize) and Eve’s Red Dress.
