Seniors From The Caldwell Area Earn Awards In County Art Contest

CALDWELLS, NJ — Several artists from the Caldwell area earned awards in the 2026 Essex County Senior Citizens Juried Art Show.

The annual contest was open to all professional and non-professional artists ages 60 and older. Awards were given in 10 different categories.

A total of 35 local seniors received awards for 2026, including the following West Essex residents:

Caldwell

• Randy Keenan won first place in the Professional Craft category for “Evening After.”
• Constance Antonio received an honorable mention in the Non-Professional Oil category for “Alison.”

North Caldwell

• Charles Rizzo won first place in the Non-Professional Watercolor category for “Stilled Life.”

Fairfield

• Robert J. Szpila won second place in the Professional Photography category for “Tulip Festival.”
• Louise Woodcox won first place in the Professional Pastels category for “Lilies in the Field.”

Roseland

• Robin Vitullo won second place in the Professional Acrylic category for “Graceful Flight.”

County officials held an award ceremony for the winning artists in Cedar Grove on Sept. 17.
