Snapshot: Campers Receive Police Demonstration

W. Caldwell chief, corporal answer questions and give tour of a patrol car.

West Caldwell Police Chief Michael Bramhall and Corporal Shaun O'Dowd provided a demonstration and tour of a police car Tuesday to children attending camp at Francisco Park.

The visit lasted nearly an hour and provided the children with safety tips like the importance of wearing a seat belts and the proper usage of 911 for emergencies. Children also learned the dangers of speaking to strangers and what to do if approached by someone they don't know.

The group of approximately 40 elementary-school aged children also asked a range of questions and were able to get a close glimpse of a police car.
