Snapshot: Cruisin' in Caldwell
Downtown lined with vintage Corvettes, Jaguars and other cool cars every Tuesday in September.
"Ridin' along in my automobile, my baby beside me at the wheel," begins the Chuck Berry 1964 rock and roll tune, "No Particular Place to Go."
The song conjures up images of American cars in their hey day, cruising along Main Street and turning heads.
Such was the scene in Caldwell Tuesday night when the Caldwell Merchants Association held its first Classic Car Cruise Night on Bloomfield Avenue.

From 5 to 8 p.m., several streets in the downtown were lined with eye-catching and nostalgia-inducing cars.
Residents strolled the avenue, chatting with owners and admiring the well-kept oldies, but goodies.

Among the local car collectors who showed up were Joe Giordano of West Caldwell with his '55 Ford Fairlane, the Melitsky Family of West Caldwell behind the wheel of a '72 "E" Jaguar and Dr. Al Mylod of North Caldwell in his '55 Chevy Bel Air.
