Sports Company CEO Gives TED Talk At James Caldwell HS
You don't have to go to a fancy think tank to get the benefits of a TED Talk, as these James Caldwell High School students learned.

WEST CALDWELL, NJ — You don’t have to go to a fancy think tank to get the benefits of a TED Talk.
Last month, Brandon Steiner, founder and CEO of Steiner Sports Marketing and Media, gave a preview of his upcoming TED Talk to an audience of students at James Caldwell High School in West Caldwell.
The event provided a key practice opportunity for both Steiner - who will give his TED Talk at Brooklyn Tech in February – and the JCHS senior English class students, who present a "Senior 20" project that’s similar to a TED Talk in lieu of a final exam.

During the event, Steiner spoke to the students using “dirt” as a metaphor for business drive. According to event organizers:
“He told the story of how Steiner Sports began and in 2006 hit some hard times and tried to come up with new ways to grow his business. As Yankee Stadium was closing, he thought about the stadium dirt and thought about how legends like Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio, Lou Gehrig, Yogi Berra all walked on that dirt and people would love to own a piece of that dirt- hence- his dirt business began. He uses dirt on stadium maps, photos, and ball cases. In one of the video clips he showed, he said his goal is to sell $100 million worth of dirt.”
