Stolen Construction Vehicle Found In NJ After Theft From Delaware Home Depot: Police

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A New Jersey man has been accused of selling a large construction vehicle on Facebook Marketplace that was stolen from a Home Depot in Delaware, police said Wednesday.

Fairfield police responded to Plog Road around 4 p.m. on July 15 after getting a report that a Kubota U17 mini excavator was actively being tracked to the area via GPS.

The heavy machinery had been reported stolen to police in Newark, Delaware after it was rented from a Home Depot and never returned, authorities said.

Fairfield police found the excavator in the side yard of a residence on Plog Road. The resident told officers that he bought the vehicle through Facebook Marketplace, and gave them details about the person who sold it to him.

After reviewing photographs, electronic communications, transaction information and video footage, Fairfield police assembled a photo array – and the buyer identified a suspect: Raymond Iddeen of Millville.

Iddeen was charged with receiving stolen property and fencing on Tuesday, police said.
