Temporary Water Discoloration In North Caldwell May Happen: Here’s Why

"If you notice discoloration in your water, please run cold water from a faucet until it clears," a borough advisory said.

NORTH CALDWELL, NJ — A firefighter training exercise may lead to temporary water discoloration near Willow Lane in North Caldwell on Monday, authorities said.

The borough released the following advisory about the impact to local residents:

“The North Caldwell Fire Department will be conducting training this evening in the area of 4 Willow Lane [from 6:30 to 9 p.m.] During this training, firefighters will be utilizing water from the municipal water system, which may cause temporary water discoloration in the surrounding area.”

“If you notice discoloration in your water, please run cold water from a faucet until it clears,” the advisory said. “Residents are encouraged to ensure the water is clear before using it for cooking, drinking, bathing, or washing clothes.”

“We appreciate your patience and understanding as our firefighters conduct this important training,” the borough added.
