Throw Hatchets At Stumpy’s Fairfield; Opening Date Set (VIDEO)
Essex County residents will soon have a new place to spend the night throwing weapons and drinking some beverages with friends.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Essex County residents will soon have a new place to throw weapons and guzzle a few beverages with friends. Stumpy’s Hatchet House recently announced a grand opening date for its new Fairfield location: Friday, June 1.
For those unfamiliar with Stumpy’s, here’s how the company describes what they offer:
“In their safe, controlled throwing pit, customers take turns hurling their hatchet to the target, honing in on their form and technique. After several trials, most find this activity to be addicting. When not throwing, friends gather in the common area at large farm tables and comfy couches. While you are welcome to order food in, snacks, beverages and ice are available for purchase.”
What about alcohol? Stumpy’s is somewhat nebulous about their “official” policy, but here’s what their website says:

“We have some beverages and light snacks for purchase but if you prefer to bring your own beverages, we’d be happy to ice them up for you. (Read between the lines here- rhymes with schweer and schwine)”

The Stumpy’s Fairfield opening comes shortly after another hatchet-throwing business - Bury The Hatchet – opened its doors in Bloomfield.
