Tutoring Club Comes to Caldwell

Grand opening attended by mayor, mascots and members of the community.

With many members of the community in attendance, including Mayor Susan Gartland and Councilman Joseph Norton, the Caldwell Tutoring Club held its grand opening Saturday at 380 Bloomfield Ave.

The Caldwell center is the 10th Tutoring Club to open in the state and is among 150 nationwide.

Among those who Pam Garvey, director of Caldwell's Tutoring Club, celebrated Saturday's grand opening with was Chris Swenson, director of the Montclair Tutoring Club, which opened three years ago.

Also in attendance were the New Jersey Devils and Jackals mascots, Meryl Connelly, of Tortilla Sunrise in Verona, Bob Russo, Montclair's former mayor, and club tutors Jennifer Murphy, Madeline Cuffari, Matt Krayton and assistant Jenn Munson.

The Tutoring Club offers individualized programs for students in grades kindergarten to 12.

The Caldwell and Montclair tutoring clubs also offer three major programs beyond the core academic skills: Homework Help, the TutorUp program and the SAT and other Test Preparation.
