Two Victims Identified After Plane From Airport In Caldwell Crashes In Sussex County
The pilot in the crash apparently had gone to space with William Shatner.
CALDWELL, NJ — Two people were confirmed dead Thursday after a single-engine plane leaving Essex County Airport in Caldwell crashed by Kemah Lake in Sussex County, New Jersey State Police confirmed.
The two were identified on Friday as Thomas P. Fisher, 54, of Hopatcong and Glen M. Devries, 49 of New York. (READ MORE: Pilot In Plane Crash Went To Space With William Shatner)

Trooper Charles Marchan, a spokesperson for the State Police, said Thursday evening that troopers arrived at the scene of the crash in Hampton Township at about 2:5o
p.m., where there were "two confirmed fatalities."
Marchan didn't provide further information about the people who died, who were reportedly headed for Sussex Airport. He referred inquiries to the Federal Aviation Administration.

A spokesperson for the FAA said that at about 3 p.m. on Thursday, the FAA sent out an alert that after leaving the airport in Caldwell, the Cessna 172 went missing.
State Police reported to the FAA at about 4 p.m., they had found the plane in "a wooded area of a state park near Lake Kemah."
