Vandalism, Car Break-In Reported on Lane Avenue

Police investigate burn marks to one vehicle; theft of GPS, IPod from another.

One vehicle was vandalized and another was reported broken into last week outside two Lane Avenue homes, Caldwell Police Detective/Sgt. Tony Marta said Monday.

According to Marta, a vehicle was found on Thursday with burn marks to the rear driver's side rim and to the driver's side door handle. There were also scratch marks to the driver's side door, Marta said.

The incident occurred sometime during the early morning hours Thursday and there was no entry into the vehicle, Marta said.

An unlocked vehicle that was broken into on Aug. 5, was reported to police last Tuesday, Marta said. A TomTom GPS device, an IPod and a pair of sunglasses were reported missing, Marta said.
