W. Caldwell Administrator Resigns
Katz becomes Vernon's fourth town manager since January.

West Caldwell Administrator Andy Katz, who has also been the town's acting Chief Financial Officer for nearly a year, resigned last week to become Vernon's town manager, The Caldwells Patch was told Saturday.
According to the New Jersey Herald, Katz will earn a salary of $135,000 his first year with a 3 percent raise each of the next two years.
Katz will become the Sussex County town's fourth manager since January.

According to the Herald, Melinda Carlton was fired in mid-January, before Robin Kline, the town's clerk, served as the interim manager for three months.
In April, Catherine Steinel was hired to become the permanent manager, but quit after just nine days, according to the Herald.

Don Teolis, who served as the town's manager from 2001 to 2007, was sentenced to five years in prison but released after nine months on a probationary program after he pled guilty to second-degree misconduct for stealing $14,000 from the town, according to nj.com.
West Caldwell recently hired Althea Headley as accounting supervisor on a part-time basis to assist Katz with some of his financial responsibilities.
West Caldwell Mayor Joseph Tempesta did not return a message Saturday for comment on Katz's resignation.
