West Caldwell Man Arrested; Child Porn, Weed Found: ECPO

A man in West Caldwell was arrested during a police search of a home, prosecutors said.

WEST CALDWELL, NJ — A West Caldwell man has been accused of possessing more than 1,000 images “depicting the sexual abuse and exploitation of children,” and another has been accused of dealing marijuana, authorities announced Friday.

On Thursday, authorities arrested Ethan Weiner, 29, of West Caldwell, later charging him with second degree endangering the welfare of a child.

According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, members of the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit, New Jersey State Police, Homeland Security Investigations and West Caldwell Police Department executed a search warrant at Weiner’s West Caldwell home.

Devices and digital storage media were seized from Weiner’s home for forensic examination and analysis, prosecutors said.

Weiner was identified during an investigation into the distribution of images and videos depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of children through file sharing networks initiated by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Ethan Weiner was released on pre-trial monitoring. [Name Withheld] was charged on a summons, prosecutors said.

An investigation is ongoing, prosecutors said.
