West Caldwell: High School Musicians Earn Spot in Honors Jazz Ensemble
Seniors at James Caldwell High School perform acapella and ensemble pieces.
Three students from James Caldwell High School in West Caldwell auditioned, qualified and performed with the North Jersey Association for Jazz Education’s Honors Vocal Jazz Ensemble.
Seniors Regina Peters (soprano), Madeline Caracappa (alto), and Jenna DeVincenzo (alto) worked under the baton of conductor Doug Heyburn, performing five songs, some acapella and some accompanied by a rhythm ensemble.
Peters and Caracappa were featured soloists in “Charleston Alley”, arranged by Darmon Meader and performed by the New York Voices. Additional songs included “I’m Old Fashioned” and “I’ll Be Seeing You”.

The group performed at the North Jersey Region 1 Jazz Festival on Sunday, April 19, at Nutley High School.
