West Caldwell Library To Host Halloween Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Time to show off your Halloween skills, West Caldwell.

The West Caldwell Public Library, 30 Clinton Road, will have a Pumpkin Decorating Contest on Friday, Oct. 30 at 4 p.m. in the Community Room.

The theme for the contest is “Storybook Characters.”

Adults, teens (ages 13-18) and children (ages 5 and older) can participate with a chance to win a prize. One prize will be awarded in each category.

The contest rules:

• Pumpkins can be painted or decorated with any materials, but cannot be carved or hollowed out.
• Pumpkins must not weigh more than 10 pounds either.
• Index cards must accompany the pumpkin with the storybook character’s name and the age of the contestant (if a child or teen.)

To obtain an entry Form or the contest rules, visit the Reference or Children’s Department at the library, or print the materials from the Library’s website http://wcplnj.org.

Entry forms must be submitted by 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 26. Pumpkins can be delivered to the library on Thursday, Oct. 29 after 4 p.m., or on Friday, Oct. 30 between 3 and 4 p.m.

Judging will be held at 4 p.m.
