West Caldwell Named ‘Best Town To Live’ In Essex County

WEST CALDWELL, NJ — West Caldwell is one of the best places to live in the entire state of New Jersey, a recent report stated.
The township made the cut for New Jersey Family’s "Best Towns for Families 2017” study, which ranks 511 Garden State towns "through the lens" of how family friendly they are.
This year, West Caldwell ranked #4 on the statewide list, placing it first in Essex County. North Caldwell ranked #25, and Caldwell ranked #30.

Clinton in Hunterdon County topped this year’s list, while at the bottom of the list is Asbury Park.

“Green space abounds in West Caldwell, a small community with strong schools and a diverse recreation program… Adults and kids can take advantage of programs ranging from twirling and wrestling to volleyball and track… The Caldwell-West Caldwell school district has a reputation for being tight-knit and high-performing… The leafy suburb is just about 23 miles from New York City. While there’s no train service in town, commuters can drive to stops in nearby Montclair (where there’s a direct train to Penn Station) or take a New Jersey Transit bus to Newark.”
