In West Caldwell: Urban Explorer Will Discuss Essex Mountain Sanatorium, Overbrook Asylum At Book Signing

Local author Wheeler Antabanez will appear at a signing for his new book at the West Caldwell Library on Oct. 30.

WEST CALDWELL, NJ — Local author and artist Wheeler Antabanez will appear at a signing for his new book “The Old Asylum and Other Stories” on Sunday, Oct. 30, at 2:00 pm in the West Caldwell Public Library, 30 Clinton Road.

According to a release, Antabanez will read a “haunting” short story from his new collection and show a video chronicling the abandonment and demolition of Overbrook Psychiatric Hospital in Cedar Grove. The short stories are based on his bone-chilling childhood explorations of the abandoned Essex Mountain Sanatorium in North Caldwell and Overbrook Psychiatric Hospital.

Copies of “The Old Asylum and Other Stories” will be available for purchase and signing after the program.
