The vehicle will be shared with Caldwell and Roseland residents. Local stops will include grocery stores, the mall and Verona Park.

Senior citizens in the Caldwells will have a new ride in October.

During the West Caldwell Town Council meeting on Aug. 4, Councilman Stan Hladik announced that the Essex County Freeholders had awarded the township a Community Block Development Grant that will pay for a new senior bus.

The vehicle will have central air-conditioning and heat, as well as a hydraulic lift for wheelchair accessibility, and will be shared by West Caldwell, Caldwell, and Roseland residents as part of the townships’ shared Senior Citizens Transportation program.
