West Essex High School Hosts 'Senior Breakfast'

Students read letters they wrote to themselves in middle school.

If you wrote a letter to your teenage self in middle school, what would it have said?

That’s what West Essex High School seniors found out during their “Senior Breakfast” on June 17, as they enjoyed a breakfast of eggs, bacon, French toast sticks, sausage, bacon, muffins and pastries.

Afterwards, the students opened letters that they wrote to themselves in middle school.

Letters included:

  • Senior Chris Pezzuti said he authored his “letter to himself” in September of 2011, and wrote to himself about the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center.
  • Senior Michael Panzarino, a varsity wrestler, enclosed a wrestling medal that he won in a tournament in his letter. Panzarino wore the medal around his neck during the breakfast.
