West Essex High School Inducts National English Honor Society Members

Fourteen new members honored at ceremony at high school.

Fourteen new members of the West Essex High School chapter of the National English Honor Society were inducted at a ceremony in the high school library in April.

According to a release, to qualify, students must have:

  • Been in attendance at the school the equivalent of one semester
  • Completed the equivalent of two semesters of English
  • Achieved a minimum overall GPA of 3.75 (on a 5.0 scale)
  • Achieved a minimum English grade of an A- or better in the one semester prior to being considered
  • Complete five hours of Literary Service Projects
  • Demonstrate an “upstanding character”
  • Participate in ”literary activities”
  • Complete a personal statement
