West Essex Regional School District Appoints New English Supervisor
School serves North Caldwell, Essex Fells, Roseland and Fairfield
Stacy Casais, an English teacher at Bayonne Public Schools, will be the new West Essex Regional School District’s teaching instructional supervisor of English.
According to a release, Casais spent the past eight years working in Bayonne teaching students in grades 3-12 before coming to West Essex. She is a lifelong resident of Bayonne.
Casais will succeed Anna Morse, who resigned in the fall. West Essex High School Assistant Principal Caesar Dilberto has been filling in until a replacement assumes the position. The West Essex Regional Board of Education approved the appointment of Stacy Casais at its Feb. 5 meeting.

Casais plans to start her new position on March 9.
According to the release, Casais has a B.A. degree in theatre from Muhlenberg College, and a M.A. degree in English and a supervisor certification from Rutgers University. She also participated in semester abroad programs at the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia through Muhlenberg College and the University of Cambridge, Gonville and Caius College in Cambridge, England, a summer abroad program with the University of New Hampshire. Casais also has an alternate route teaching certification from New Jersey City University. Casais also coached tennis for seven years at Bayonne High School.

“I am thrilled to be joining the West Essex Regional School District, and I look forward to working with all of the teachers, administrators, staff, and students to ensure continued success as we finish the 2014-15 school year,” Casais stated.
“I’m excited to add my knowledge and experience to this excellent academic community, and I look forward to many productive years ahead.”
As the new English supervisor, Casais said that she believes her experience and knowledge of the content area and her master’s degree in English will help her improve the English Department at West Essex. In addition, she looks forward to working with Superintendent Barbara Longo and Supervisor of Technology Charles Young to encourage more teachers to embrace technology and use the teaching tools available to them and incorporate technology into the English curriculum at West Essex. In her position, Casais will also supervise the Middle School and High School media centers and said she looks forward to working with both librarians to help move the libraries forward and help them make more research tools available to the students online.
