West Essex Regional Winter Guard Wins Championship
Students take home victory at International Regional Class Championship
The West Essex Regional Winter Guard won the Winter Guard International Regional A Class Championship at South Brunswick High School on Saturday, Feb. 28.
The victory was an unanimous decision by the judges, with the West Essex Winter Guard placing first in every category, stated Lisa Swanick, West Essex Supervisor of Fine, Performing and Practical Arts in a release.
The group competed against color guards from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Montreal, Canada.

The West Essex Winter Guard plans to participate in other competitions in Matawan, Somerville, Deptford and the MAIN championships at South Brunswick High School.
