West Essex Students Selected to 2015 NJ School Music Association Junior Regional Band, Choirs and Orchestra
Students selected from North Caldwell, Roseland and Fairfield
Ten West Essex students have been selected to represent West Essex Regional Schools in the 2015 North Jersey School Music Association Junior Region Band, Choirs and Orchestra.
According to a release, three freshman students were selected from West Essex High School, including freshmen Celia White, a cellist from Essex Fells, Dorothy He, a violinist from Roseland, and Selena Szarka, an alto vocalist from Fairfield.
White and He will perform in a concert with the NJSMA Junior Region 1 Orchestra Sunday, March 15 at 3 p.m. at the West Essex Middle School. Szarka was selected to perform as an alto with the North Jersey Region 1 SATB Chorus. The chorus will perform on Sunday, March 8 at 3 p.m., at Parsippany Hills High School.

Seven students were also selected from West Essex Middle School. Catherine Marino, an eighth grade alto saxophonist from Fairfield, will perform with the NJSMA Region I Intermediate Band Sunday March 22 at Madison Junior High School. Mary Fant, an eighth grader from North Caldwell, and Ashley Thomas, a seventh grader from Roseland, will sing with the SSA North Jersey Region 1 Chorus. In addition, the following eighth graders were selected for the SATB Choir: Jayden Coldon of North Caldwell, Alessia Martire of Roseland, Elaina Ragusa of Fairfield and Alexus Rodriguez of Roseland.
Both choral groups will perform on Sunday, March 8 at 3 p.m., at Parsippany Hills High School.
