West Essex Teen Will Play In Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
A sophomore flute player will represent the West Essex Regional School District in the 2019 Macy's Great American Marching Band.

CALDWELLS, NJ — If you’re a fan of the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade who lives in the West Essex area, you’ve got a new reason to catch the festivities this year.
Earlier this week, the West Essex Regional School District announced that Madison Rombough – a sophomore flute player – will represent her community in the Macy's Great American Marching Band.
The band – which culls its members from high school music students from throughout the United States – performs every year as part of the iconic parade, which takes place on Thursday, Nov. 28 for 2019.

This year’s roster of directors also has another Essex County link, Kailene Laga, a dance instructor at Montclair State University.
According to the band’s website, the 185 performing musicians will be complemented by about 40 flags and dancers, and will take an honor position among gigantic helium balloons and gargantuan floats carrying celebrities.

In addition to marching in the parade, all selected participants' package plans include meals, lodging and New York City sightseeing events.
The West Essex Regional School District includes students from Essex Fells, Fairfield, North Caldwell and Roseland.
