West Essex Art Association Annual Open Juried Exhibition

Check out Crane’s Mill Towne Square Gallery, located at 459 Passaic Ave. in West Caldwell oil, on Sunday, Jan. 18 for an art exhibit featuring pastel, watercolor, acrylics, photography, sculpture and mixed media. Admission is free. It is an all-day event.

Sci Fi Week

Can’t get enough science fiction? Stop by the Caldwell Public Library, located at 268 Bloomfield Ave. in Caldwell, on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 6:30 p.m. for author visits and science-fiction film screenings for ages 12 and older. Events will also be held on Jan. 22 and Jan. 28.

NJ Ravens Basketball Tryouts

The NJ Ravens AAU travel basketball team is holding tryouts for girls between the ages of 11 and 13. Visit Caldwell University, located at 9 Ryerson Ave. in Caldwell, to participate on Saturday, Jan. 24, at 2 p.m.
