Whyte Chosen CACC Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week

Cougars (4-6) play at Nyack College Tuesday.

Caldwell College freshman forward Mosiah Whyte (Coram, NY/Newfield) was selected the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week for men's soccer for the week ending Oct. 3, the league announced Monday. Whyte scored a goal in both of the Cougars' wins last week.

In Tuesday's 4-2 victory at Queens College, Whyte tallied the Cougars' second goal of the game. Then on Sunday against CACC foe Holy Family, Whyte found the net again for his fourth goal of the season in a 3-0 win. Through 10 games, he leads the team in goals with four and ranks second on the team in scoring with nine points.

Whyte is the second Cougar men's soccer player to be named the CACC Rookie of the Week, as midfielder Kristopher Bistre (Staten Island, NY/St. Peter's) received the award on Sept 13. Bistre leads the team in scoring with three goals and four assists for 10 points.

The Cougars (4-6) play at Nyack College in a CACC game on Tuesday, Oct. 5. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. in Nyack, N.Y.
